What do you get when you cross training for a marathon with writing about training for a marathon – Running Writing.
That’s the witty premise behind my new blog.
I’ve always been a big believer in goal setting, particularly when it comes to my fitness. This year I’ve set myself a doozey and I’m counting on you to keep me honest.
On the 31st of August this year it is my intention to endure 42.195 kilometres of mental and physical torture in the Sunshine Coast Marathon.
Currently I have a reasonable level of fitness. If I was to run 10 kilometres today it would probably take me just under an hour. I’m certainly not looking to break any records, I just want to cross the finish line, and if I can do so in between 4 and 4.5 hours I will be stoked.
This isn’t a training program – god no! Here’s my official disclaimer, I know nothing more about fitness and training than the average reader of Women’s Health and Fitness. But if you want to follow a reasonably average mother of two on a largely exceptional journey then this is the blog for you.
I look forward to having you along for the ride, or the run as the case may be.
